A multi-faceted gymnastic stadium has risen from the ground of Wuxi's Huishan district after two years of construction, offering a new exercise site for the city's residents.
The venue, which cost 250 million yuan ($37 million), covers an area of 53,000 square meters. It is made up of a main venue and a standard outdoor soccer field.
The venue features complete facilities for sports lovers including space for football, basketball, tennis, badminton, swimming and fitness. The indoor swimming pool is the only one in Wuxi installed with a water safety alarm system.
The swimming pool has been open to the public since July 16, with other areas set to be operational in the upcoming months.
Residents can simply take Wuxi Metro Line 1 to the terminal Yanqiao Stop and proceed north to get to the new stadium.
The facility will host various small sports events and exchange activities in the future, says Hua Dongming, the stadium manager.
