The city of Yantai in Shandong province won hearts and minds in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province on July 21, as the municipal government hosted a high-profile city promotion event in the southern metropolis.
Officials from across the Yantai government, including the tourism, commerce, housing and agriculture departments, were present at the event. They briefed attendees on Yantai’s advantages as a highly livable business and tourism destination.

Yantai has long had a high reputation in China, and has previously won a string of accolades including "the Most Glamorous City in China", "National Civilized City", "National Excellent City in Comprehensive Social Management", "China Gold Medal City for Investment Environment", "the Most Ideal Summer Resort in China", "Leisure City in China", "Capital of Shandong Cuisine in China", "the UN-Habitat Scroll of Honor award" and "International Vine and Wine City".
Xu Shaoning, director of the Yantai publicity department, delivered a speech at the event, extending a warm welcome to future visitors to the city. Xu said that he wished more people could come to his city, a fairyland filled with leisure and romance, and try the good wine and delicious seafood it offers.
