Media delegates from the Philippines visited Xiamen from July 16 to 18, during which they met and talked with officials from the municipal bureau of commerce about the economic and trade ties between the city and the Philippines.
They also went to the Port of Xiamen and were briefed on the port's operations, the construction of a cruise home port and its connectivity with members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. During the visit to the Dongdu Wharf in Xiamen, the delegates watched an inspection of imported fruit and learned about the city's fruit imports from the Philippines.

With a well-organized schedule, the trip to Xiamen was fruitful and pleasant, according to the journalists. They said Xiamen has left a deep impression on them and expressed their best wishes to the city.
