Shenyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone plans to establish an imported goods exhibition center in the region, with the expectation that it will save money and time for both importers and consumers.
The exhibition center will be divided into different parts according to the product’s country of origin; and it will serve as an imported goods trade platform when construction is finished.
The establishment of the exhibition center will significantly reduce the price of goods and save time for businesses and consumers due to the curtailment of trading links and reduction in transit times.
“Imported goods don’t need to pay taxes until goods depart the logistics warehouse in Shenyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, which helps cut costs,” said Zhao Xiaoyu, the manager of Shenyang Yuehai Trade Co. Zhao’s company recently imported over 50,000 bottles of beer from France.
Zhao also revealed that the price of imported goods also decreases as the operation mode of the imported goods exhibition center cuts warehousing and logistics costs; and it also guarantees the quality of perishable goods such as meat, fruit, and vegetables.
The import exhibition center has been established due to the strong growth of fast-moving consumer goods –– products that are sold quickly and at relatively low cost e.g. non-durable goods such as soft drinks, toiletries, over-the-counter drugs, and processed foods.
As of July 20, Shenyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone witnessed the import of 152.66 tons of fast-moving consumer goods in 2017, at a value of 1.62 million yuan ($240,100).
As with the official establishment of the Shenyang section of Liaoning Free Trade Zone in April, the location, transportation and industrial advantages of Shenyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone have been strengthened, said Wei Xiaolin, a manager from the zone.
Wei also revealed that the imported goods exhibition center will lay solid foundations for making Shenyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone the import and export commodity collection and distribution center in Liaoning province.
