Organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangdong Committee, Guangzhou Cross-border E-commerce Industry Association and Hong Kong Yuezhan Group, the three-day exhibition covered an area of 20,000 square meters and showcased a wide range of cross-border e-commerce upstream and downstream products.
Carrying the theme "Create a New Journey of Belt and Road Initiative, Build a Cross-border Trade Fair", the exhibition featured well-known exhibitors from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative such as Japan, Australia and Singapore. The exhibitors provided numerous first-hand commodities for visitors and Chinese companies looking to find business partners.
Those who could not attend the expo were able to follow the exhibition online, as the organizers of the event worked together with technology companies to give a live broadcast of the event.
"We strive to build a new model for the expo to ensure that it is free from geographic restrictions and can be seen by people from across China," said a spokesperson for the Guangzhou Cross-border E-commerce Industry Association.

Guangzhou is a hotspot for cross-border e-commerce in China. According to statistics provided by the Guangzhou municipal commission of commerce, import and export turnover for Guangzhou's cross-border e-commerce businesses reached 8.6 billion yuan ($1.3 billion) during January-May 2017, a 150 percent increase over the same period last year.
