Green Car China 2017 ends in Guangzhou

The 2017 China International New-energy, Energy-saving and Intelligent Automobile Exhibition, or Green Car China 2017, concluded in Guangzhou on July 23, according to local media outlet Southcn.com.

The event is the largest exhibition for new energy and energy-saving automobiles in the auto industry in South China, showcasing the latest new energy vehicles and technologies.

Under the theme "Tech Storm, Smart City", Green Car China 2017 covered an area of 35,000 square meters and attracted exhibitors from more than 100 countries and regions.

A total of seven exhibition halls were built for the event. They included a new-energy vehicle hall, charging facilities exhibition hall, power battery hall and a scientific research and testing hall.

The highlight of the event was the display of more than 30 all-electric vehicles, which received a lot of attention from visitors. Among them were saloon cars, public transportation vehicles and commercial vehicles.

Domestic car makers including GAC and BYD rolled out their latest models such as GE3, the first all-electric car built by GAC and the BYD Qin, a plug-in hybrid compact sedan.

A driverless automobile based on laser radar and 5G technology developed jointly by China Mobile and Tsinghua University also debuted at the exhibition, attracting numerous visitors to take a test drive.   

A series of professional forums including the Second China New-energy Automobile Industry Development Trend Forum and New-energy Intelligent Public Transportation System Forum were also organized at the exhibition. The forums functioned as a platform for heads of the automobile industry, experts and technicians of new-energy vehicles industry to communicate and discuss the development, policy guidance and business mode of the new-energy automobile industry.
