Tianjin strives to develop foreign cooperation

The 7th BRICS (Brazil, Russia, Indian, China and South Africa) Health Ministers Meeting and High Level Meeting on Traditional Medicine were held in Tianjin on July 6, focusing on international cooperation in the development of traditional medicine.

The exhibition was themed on the elements, history, and role in modern society of traditional Chinese medicine, as well as Tianjin's traditional Chinese medicine culture. It showcased the practice's profound culture and history.

By 2020 China will build 30 TCM overseas centers, issue 20 standards to apply in TCM countries, register 100 TCM products, and build 50 overseas demonstration bases.

The experience area of non-pharmaceutical therapy and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapy attracts many foreign guests. The techniques and modern equipment involved in TCM products showcase the combination of the old and the new in traditional Chinese medicine.

China took over the presidency of BRICS as of Jan 1, 2017.The second meeting of BRICS ministers of culture was held in Tianjin on July 5.

The ministers of culture gave speeches and exchanged ideas about cooperation in the area of culture, and signed agreements about cultural exchange. A picture exhibition of BRICS's heritages and an exhibition of a China national base for international cultural trade were held in Tianjin at same time.

2017 is the second decade of cooperation of BRICS countries, which plan to promote cultural exchange, cooperation and communication in the future.

From June 6 to 9, the 10th Tianjin-Taiwan Investment and Cooperation Forum and 2017 Taiwan Goods Exposition were also held in Tianjin, creating an entrepreneurship and employment communication platform for youth from both sides.

The Tianjin-Taiwan Investment and Cooperation Forum and the 2017 Taiwan Goods Exposition are already communication bridges between Tianjin and Taiwan, and are together becoming an important trade cooperative platform.
