Sanmenxia, Central China's Henan province, is expecting a boost to its international image, after being filmed by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC).

In order to promote the city's tourism across the globe, Sanmenxia government invited a 20-member camera crew from the New York-headquartered company to make a feature about the city.

The documentary is planned to take six days to complete, lasting until July 16.

During the six-day shoot, cameras will capture landmark scenic spots and urban attractions in Sanmenxia, such as the Swan Lake Wetland National Park, Hangu Pass, the Cave Dwelling Cultural Scenic Spot – a unique underground domestic architecture – as well as the International Convention and Exhibition Center.

The documentary will present a panoramic view of the city's natural beauty, profound historic and cultural deposits, folk customs and delicious food, helping overseas viewers get a deeper understanding of Sanmenxia.

Previously, Sanmenxia has competed in the large-scale culture tourism TV program Charming Cities in China, the overseas promotion providing a boost to the city's image.
