The sponsor of the world's largest print consumables exhibition commenced construction of the Recycling Times (RT) Edifice at Nanping Science & Technology Industrial Park on July 11. The objective is to become a world-class trade center for office facilities and print consumables.

With a total investment of 600 million yuan ($88 million), the 11,720-sq-m edifice site is located on Second Pingbei Road in Nanping Town. Plans call for floor space of 59,581 sq m while matching up with 5A-level river-view office buildings and serviced apartments.

Scheduled to be completed by 2019, the edifice is expected to attract 300 print-consumables enterprises from around the globe.

Zhuhai-based Recycling Times Media Corp sponsors the annual RemaxWorld Expo, and is dedicated to advancement of the print supplies industry. It promotes and enlarges the sector, in this case by establishing a building complex for perennial exhibitions in Zhuhai.

According to the overall layout plan, Nanping Science & Technology Industrial Park will be at the core part of a world office facilities and print consumables trade center. Meanwhile, Zhuhai is facilitating construction of a State-Level Print Consumables Quality & Safety Domo Zone and a National Print Consumables Well-Known Brands Demo Zone to provide support in terms of resources and platforms for the local sector and enhance competitiveness in the global industrial chain.

Dubbed the Print Consumables Capital of the World, Zhuhai has developed a complete industrial chain including associated industries, owing to more than 680 related enterprises with products exported to more than 120 countries and regions.

According to published statistics, the city's print companies manufacture over 78.6 percent of universal color ribbons, 68.4 percent of compatible ink cartridges, and 40.1 percent of compatible toner cartridges in the global market.

Recycling Times managing director Tony Lee said that Zhuhai's world-leading position has been recognized by the global industry. What is required next is to give full play to Zhuhai's industrial advantages in costs, logistics, and technology, making the city a trade hub. By integrating manufacturing and trading, and connecting suppliers and buyers, a new round of renovation of the industry in Zhuhai and even the whole country can be envisioned, he added.
