The north square of Harbin West Railway Station is due to be put into service following an inspection, which is expected to significantly release traffic pressure in the station area.
The north square is a key project that aims to improve traffic conditions in the northern area of Harbin West Railway Station as well as enhance passenger services.
Covering an area of 96,000 square meters, the north square consists of traffic facilities, greenery and a water system. Passengers who head to Daoli district, Songbei district and Taiping International Airport can transfer to trains, buses, taxis and private cars in the north square without having to go to other places.
Currently, the seven bridges, street lights, greenery and pavement have already been completed; and Tieshun Street, Hexie Street and Lijiang Road have also successfully been connected to the square.
The completion of the north square project will mean that Harbin West Railway Station will be accessible from both the north and south squares –– improving traffic flow in the local area.
