Buyers at expo hot for Doumen aquaculture output

Five leading Doumen aquaculture enterprises garnered orders worth 16 million yuan ($2.35 million) at the 3rd Asia-Pacific Aquaculture Expo and 2017 Cross-Strait (Fuzhou) Fisheries Week & China (Fuzhou) International Fisheries Expo from June 30 to July 2. 

The Zhuhai companies Zhishan Marine Products Development, Qiangjing Agriculture, Jiyuan Aquatic Products, Chengfeng Youpin Agricultural Technology, and Hujiang Fisheries Technology participated in the expo. They were led by Zhuhai National Agricultural Science & Technology Park, the Doumen District Investment Promotion Bureau, and Baijiao Town People's Government to promote Doumen's international exchange and cooperation in aquaculture, and to expand the domestic market.

Doumen enterprises are highly reputed by domestic and overseas customers, primarily due to featured aquaculture product varieties, high-quality water resources, rich nutritive values, and good taste. 

Zhuhai Qiangjing Agriculture's high-quality fish was a highlight at the expo. The company signed on-site orders valued at about 4 million yuan ($588,200) and negotiated with more than 20 customers, which will bring an annual increment of over 12 million yuan ($1.75 million). 

In the meantime, Zhuhai Jiyuan Aquatic Products met with more than 60 potential customers on the first day and signed with 35 companies. The business volume for sea bass products stood at 234 tons with a total order value of 7.5 million yuan ($1.1 million). 

The expo in Fuzhou attracted 528 exhibitors from 33 countries such as the US, Japan, South Korea, Israel, and Ecuador, and from 16 Chinese provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions.
