Liu Jianjun, a barber in Changchun, Jilin province, has helped seniors by cutting their hair for free for more than 20 years and has gained friendships and respect.

Liu lost his mom when he was young and was cared for by his neighbors. He decided to help and care about those who had helped him when he began making a good living with his barbershop 24 years ago.
However, most of those people had passed away and this turn of fate haunted Liu's mind until one day a man in his 60s entered his barbershop.
The old man meekly asked whether Liu could give his wife a haircut at home as she was not able to get out of the flat.

Liu agreed and accompanied the old man to his home, offering a haircut for his wife. When he finished cutting, the older woman smiled, which inspired Liu to carry on the voluntary haircutting service.
Since then, Liu often carries his tool box to the homes of seniors and offers free haircut services. Many call him "Good Man Liu".
Liu said he hopes that more people could join in his voluntary work and help seniors feel happier and at ease.
Liu and fellow volunteers have offered more than 40,000 free haircuts to seniors and sometimes Liu would visit a senior's house to cut hair when they are unable to walk a long distance to the shop.
