Zhuhai fair to amplify relationships with Latin America

Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, and other Latin American countries will be represented at the first China-Latin America International Fair, which is to take place at the Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center in November.

Guests and representatives of the respective Guangzhou consulate generals were briefed about Zhuhai on July 4. Outlined were the city’s profile and achievements in economic development, infrastructure construction, culture, education, innovation, business environments, and other aspects over the years.

Hengqin Party Chief Niu Jing, who is also director of the Hengqin New Area Administrative Committee, told the guests that the fair would establish a basis for enterprises in China and Latin America to coordinate for win-win development. Zhuhai sincerely invites government officials, entrepreneurs, and guests from different countries to join the event, Niu added.

Discussions were also carried out between the Latin American representatives and local officials and entrepreneurs on getting involved in Zhuhai.

The theme for the fair is based on an old Chinese saying -- "Good friends feel close even when they are thousands of miles apart."

The fair will include a trade and economic cooperation forum, entrepreneurs summit, commodities and trade fairs, investment cooperation, and cultural exchanges to heighten relationships between China and Latin America.
