It is easy to imagine that you are in Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) China as you wander among the gray stone houses of Heping village in Su'ao town, Pingtan.
The 200-year-old fishing village is famous for its ancient dwellings, many locals still make their living by catching oysters and shrimp, just as their ancestors did.
This island community is also happens to be one of the most picturesque spots in Southeast China. In 2016, Heping village was selected as one of the most beautiful villages in Fujian province by an online vote.
