Wuxi shows best local firms during media tour

To showcase the industrial and economic development of Wuxi, more than 50 people, including media representatives, celebrities and photographers, were recently invited to visit local companies and record the changes happening in the city, according to a press conference held by Wuxi government in the city's Huishan district on June 29.

The group visited several top companies operating in different industries, such as Fasten Group and Hodo Group, and explored how the businesses support and contribute to the city's economy.

Wuxi, located in East China's Jiangsu province, was one of the birthplaces for modern Chinese industry. The first Sino-foreign joint venture in Jiangsu province, the first town generating 100 million yuan ($14.73 million) in revenue and first village earning revenue of 100 million yuan were all from the city’s Huishan district.

Focusing on industrial transformation and innovation, Wuxi made great strides in industrial development during 2016 with the output of industrial companies above a designated size reaching 1.5 trillion yuan and 13 businesses listed in China's top 500 companies.
