A 500-kilovolt ultra-high-voltage substation was put into service for power transmission at 14:00 on June 27, according to Inner Mongolia Power Grid.
The substation has been under construction by Inner Mongolia Power Company and Inner Mongolia Ultra-high Power Supply Administration since May 2016, and it will power electrified railways along the Hohhot-Jungar-Ordos line. The facility can also help meet the electricity needs of industrial parks and improve the stability and reliability of grids.
