China Southern Airlines (CSA) will launch a direct flight between Irkutsk, Russia and the northeastern Chinese city of Harbin starting July 1.
The direct flight is being launched to support China’s Belt and Road Initiative and the Heilongjiang Silk Road Economic Belt.
An Airbus A320 will depart from Harbin at 17:25 and arrive in Irkutsk at 20:00 every Sunday, according to Li Bingxin, publicity manager of CSA Heilongjiang branch.
The return flight will leave Irkutsk at 21:15 and arrive in Harbin at 23:55, Li said.
This flight has attracted a lot of attention thanks to its low ticket price. The round trip fare from Harbin to Irkutsk will be 1,100 yuan ($161.8). Meanwhile, cheaper tickets will also be released in the near future.
