Innovation and entrepreneurship competitions can offer chances for both entrepreneurs and investors.
A contest for innovation and entrepreneurship by returnees from abroad was held in Changchun, Jilin province, on June 23, during which more than 60 teams from Europe, Asia, and North America attended the event, promoting their innovative products and ideas and hunting for cooperation partners.
Fan Wei, a graduate from University of Florida and former developer in the Silicon Valley, brought his "Health Care + Artificial Intelligence" program to the competition.
He said returning to China, which has a large market and great potential, and starting their own business has been popular among overseas students.
Winners of the competition can both receive big bonuses and obtain privileges for office rental, equity investment, and children's schooling.
Liu Dan, an entrepreneur who researches noninvasive test-tube fertilization technology, said after the roadshow that the entrepreneurs could find partners and investors in China because of an agglomeration effect, which made it easier to enter the market compared to coming from abroad.
