Guangzhou's Jazz and Coffee Culture Week is bringing local residents a glimpse of Italian culture.
Co-sponsored by the Guangzhou International Finance Center (IFC) and Guangzhou Opera House, the activity runs from June 26 to July 7 in M Space of IFC.
During the almost fortnight-long event, people can also explore coffee, a "passionate and powerful" beverage, as the organizers hold an exhibition on its history.
In addition, Les Triplettes de Belleville (The Triplets of Belleville), a beloved 2003 animated comedy film which was Oscar-nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song, will have several screenings during the event.
Some exquisite posters in retro styles and warm colors are showcased, as well as videos and stereoscopic sculptures of figures in the movie.
It presents participants a flashback showing the classical melodies and pictures, and offers a wonderful and romantic experience of immersing oneself in the coffee aroma and improvisational jazz.
On the evening of June 29, the organizer will hold an art salon on jazz and coffee, where Chinese female jazz singer Wang Cong and Italian singer-songwriter Alessia Raisi will give performances and share their insights on jazz culture.
Alice Rubini, deputy consul-general of the Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou, will share and exchange Italian coffee culture with participants.
