Intelligent technology conference welcomes change

Co-hosted by the Tianjin municipal government, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the first World Intelligence Congress is being held in the Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center from June 29 to 30. The theme of the congress is "towards a hyper-intelligence age".

A series of events, including demonstrations of intelligent technologies & applications and an exhibition of the achievements of CAS, together with a World Intelligent Driving Challenge, will be held during the congress.

The congress has several focuses, including the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province, intelligent ports, and industrial investment and financing. Fifteen summits and dialogues will be on offer. Chinese and overseas scholars, entrepreneurs, investment organizations and government leaders will exchange ideas on advancing intelligent applications to benefit the world.

The intelligent science and technologies exhibition will focus on "intelligent science and technologies, intelligent life", displaying an industrial connection platform based on new international technologies, products, achievements and solutions.

The World Intelligent Drive Challenge will be a congress highlight. It will include self-driving, smart-aided vehicles using intelligent information networks. Thirty famous enterprises from China and the rest of the world as well as academic institutions will take part.

The intelligent science and technologies of Tianjin, the host of the congress, will be indispensable.

For example, the camera Superstar from Tianjin's Tiandy, the first 24-hour full color camera without infrared, will be on display at the congress.

According to Tiandy's marketing director Huang Yulei the research and development cycle is always six months, and the average promotion cycle is three months. Rapid responses to the market and solid research and development abilities are the main factors in the artificial intelligent age.

It's the first time GBase 8e, an embedded database from GBASE, has been shown to the public. The device can be used in vending machines, ticket checking machines, credit card machines, smart homes and smart healthcare with the advantages of little resource consumption, high stability and low maintenance.

GBASE uses leading independent controllable databases and big data products to provide reliable services to consumers in the area of finance, telecommunications, government and national defense.

Thirty academicians, 20 CEOs of transnational enterprises, 100 scholars from "The Recruitment Program of Global Experts", 200 intelligent science and technology enterprises, 50 academic institutions and 50 venture capital institutions will attend the congress.

Many Chinese and foreign science and technology leaders will attend to exchange ideas and explore the direction of intelligent development. They include Robin Li, co-founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Baidu; Liu Chuanzhi, chairman of Legend Holdings Corporation; and Jack Ma, executive chairman of Alibaba Group. Other Chinese leaders scheduled to appear are Liu Qingfeng, founder and board chairman of iFLYTEK; Pan Yunhe, member of the Academic Degree Commission of the State Council; Zhang Ba, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; and Gong Ke, headmaster of Nankai University. Other attendees are expected to include Dr. Marlena Kanga, president-elect of the WFEO; Dr. Indrajit Banerjee, director of the Knowledge Societies Division of UNESCO in the Communication and Information Sector; Piero Scaruffi, founder of the Silicon Valley Artificial Intelligence Research Institute and author of A History of Silicon Valley, Intelligence Is Not Artificial and Human 2.0 - the Future of Technology.
