Nanqin Road linking Hengqin with the downtown Xiangzhou District will be landscaped with Fragrant Aralia, dwarf umbrella, ivy, Frangipani, butterfly palm, and other trees at a cost of 110.7 million yuan ($16.2 million), according to the Zhuhai Development & Reform Bureau.
The project encompasses the central green belt, as well as the motorway, non-motor lane, and sidewalk outward green belts along the road. Green construction within the range of Hengqin North Interchange and Hongwan Interchange are also included in the project.

The landscaping is intended to further improve municipal support facilities, enhance the living setting, and create a better investment environment.
The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Link Line (Nanwan-Hongwan Interchange) has opened to traffic whereas restoration on Nanqin Road and its ancillary facilities is to be completed by the end of this year. By then, the landscaping will have also been upgraded.
