In more than two decades of cooperation of electric power, 33.7 billion KWh of electricity has been supplied to Hong Kong from Guangdong, more than a quarter of the South China city's total usage.
A vast chunk of that electricity has been supplied by China Southern Power Grid in Shenzhen, which has connected 11 transmission lines with the maximum electricity transmission capacity of 1.6 million KWh.
Huang Zhenliang, an electric line patrol worker from China Southern Power Grid has witnessed the growth of the electricity network between Hong Kong and Guangdong firsthand.
"25 years ago, I joined the power supply project construction between Hong Kong and Guangdong and now I am still working to guarantee the electricity transmission between two sides."

Official statistics show that around 80 percent of electricity produced by Shenzhen's Dayawan Nuclear Plant goes to Hong Kong every year to ensure its power supply. In addition, the Power Supply Agreement was signed between the two sides agreeing that non-profit electricity support will be given to guarantee Hong Kong's power supply.
