Inner Mongolia’s first industrial robot center has settled in Baotou, the largest industrial city of the autonomous region, on June 18, according to Baotou Daily.
The center, covering an area of over 1,000 square meters, will feature industrial robot production, intelligent manufacturing applications and related industry training.
The center, with over eight million yuan ($1.17 million) invested in the project, is expected to house nine training zones and mainstream robotics equipment, including Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arms (SCARA) and robot workstations.
Bai Qingyuan, deputy mayor of Baotou, attended the opening ceremony and called for closer ties between the government and Baotou’s Light Industry Vocational Technical College in developing smart factories and smart workshops in Baotou to boost regional economic development.
