High-end equipment base announced for Jinding Park

The Zhuhai Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone plans to build the High-end Equipment Manufacturing Industry Accelerating Base at a cost of 265 million yuan ($39 million), the Zhuhai Housing & Urban-Rural Planning & Construction Bureau revealed on June 19. 

The project, listed in Zhuhai's 2017 key construction preparatory project program, is to be strongly urged ahead by the government.

Located west of Jinpin Road and south of 2nd Jinrui Road at Jinding Industrial Park, Tangjiawan Town, the base will cover 49,500 sq m with a floorage of 99,000 sq m.

Zhuhai is an important component of the "Made in China 2025" Program "Six City -- One District" Pilot City Agglomeration Initiative on the Pearl River west bank. The cluster of Zhuhai, Foshan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Yangjiang, Zhaoqing, and Shunde District was ratified by the Ministry of Industry & Information Technology last year. Under the proposal, Zhuhai will accelerate development of advanced manufacturing to become an international innovation-based city and a core city on the west bank.

Until 2019, scales of such high-end equipment as marine engineering, aviation and aerospace, and new-energy vehicles will be expanded. In the meantime, industrial competitiveness of intelligent precision assembly in a smart distribution grid, smart home, and energy conservation and environmental protection equipment will be significantly enhanced.

By then, features of high-end industry will become prominent with an independent innovation mechanism, and the technological innovation and graded talents systems of advanced equipment manufacturing greatly improved. The leading position of the "Made in China 2025" Program Pilot City Agglomeration Initiative on the Pearl River west bank is expected to better stand out. 

The outlook is for the city to become a significant growth pole in the area's coastal and riverside advanced equipment manufacturing industrial belt.
