Guangzhou on the menu for gastronomes

The sixth Guangzhou International Food & Ingredients Fair (GIFMS) is underway in the Southern Guangdong city from June 14 to 17, attracting more than 30,000 buyers from some 20 countries and regions.

The four-day event, sponsored by the Guangzhou council of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, gathers global delicacies and ingredients in Guangzhou, allowing attendees to sniff-out delights from across the world.

The annual food fair has been praised for its matchmaking between exhibitors and buyers, as well as being a platform to boost the development of food industry in the world.

Overseas foods and drinks, such as Italian seafood, French wine, and Arctic cod from Norway, were flown direct using cold-chain transportation, making the sure the event had only the freshest ingredients.

One of the highlights of the fair this year is exhibitors wearing traditional dress to attract the eyes of visitors and win them over.
