Dozens of reasons to love Jilin

Changbai Mountain, Jingyuetan Park, Jilin rice, and Guobaorou are all reasons for foreign people to fall in love with Jilin.

A video about the reasons foreigners love the province was released before the promotion conference "Promising Jilin Meeting the World" held in Beijing on June 13.

Odion Ighalo, a Nigerian soccer player at Changchun Yatai Football Club, has been in Changchun, capital of Jilin province, for three months.

Culture shock is inevitable, "but wherever I am -- in the streets or at shopping malls -- people are kind to me," he said.

Gao Youyuan is the chairman of Changchun Nordic Ways, a Swedish company focusing on sports events, and it was him who introduces Vasaloppet -- a skiing event -- to the city.

He said he loves Jingyuetan Park very much and plans to help build Changchun into the skiing city of China.

Nicola, a teacher working for an international school in Changchun, said she has lived in the city for 17 years and had witnessed its development. She said she would like to live here for dozens of more years.

A Peru foreign student, Alforso Enrique Huaman Villca, can speak seven languages and he said fluently in Chinese that he loves Jilin so much and would like to have a wife from NE China.

"I will graduate next month and will have to return to Peru. But I will apply for a new visa and come to China to hunt for a job. It would be so exciting if I could settle down here," he added.
