Day keeps Xiangzhou unique heritages vibrantly alive

Xiangzhou District's six heritage items took center stage on June 10 to mark the annual 12th China Cultural & Natural Heritage Day at V12 Cultural & Creative Industry Park in Nanping Town.

Among them were the One-Thumb Massage in traditional medicine category, provincial indigenous music Shatian Folk Songs, and Qianshan Phoenix-Rooster Dance. Three municipal items were Cantonese Opera, Daxiu Silk String Guchin Craftsmanship, and Sun's Stepping Lumbus & Meridian Energy Massage.

Seven Zhuhai and district-level intangible cultural heritage inheritors in Xiangzhou District participated and were presented with subsidies for their work.

In addition to the display and heritage performances, a creative market, games, and Q&A sessions were held.

The event was sponsored by the Xiangzhou District Culture, Sports & Tourism Bureau and V12 Cultural & Creative Industry Park, and organized by the Xiangzhou District Culture Center and a local culture communications company.
