Liaoning province held a three-day intangible cultural heritage exhibition along with various performances from June 9 to 11, in order to welcome China’s Culture and Natural Heritage Day, which falls on the second Saturday in June each year.
The main host sites hosted activities including intangible cultural heritage exhibitions and performances, forums, activities in residential communities, and photo exhibitions documenting the achievements of intangible cultural heritage protection. Parallel sites focused more on regional characteristics, where activities combined with local customs were on display.
The heritage performances that took place at the event contained all traditional cultural items from Liaoning province, including stilt walking, yangge dancing and errenzhuan (a song-and-dance duet performance popular in Northeast China).
