Wuxi's Liangxi district has pledged its commitment improving the convenience and enjoyment of travel after a meeting in the Jiangsu province city discussed means of applying Premier Li Keqiang's All-for-one tourism initiative on June 7.
All-for-one tourism is the government's most recent endeavor to upgrade national tourism across rural, industrial, senior citizen, and health sectors as well as a move aiming to alleviate poverty by spreading tourism and tourism investment to rural areas.
Although Wuxi is a city boasting several important historical sites, they are scattered around the East China city and the new efforts seek to create a program whereby the main attractions can be visited within half a day. These sites include Plaza 66, the former residence of Xue Fucheng, a Qing Dynasty (1912–49) diplomat, and Qian Zhongshu's former residence, a Wuxi-born 20th century writer.
Furthermore, Wuxi aims to unite the attractions of Yixing, a city famed for its pottery, Binhu, a scenic area boasting Turtle Head Isle among other attractions, Xishan, Xinwu, and Jiangyin districts to offer visitors a broad and diverse tourism experience.
