The 3rd China-CEEC Investment and Trade Expo, to be held in Ningbo, Zhejiang province on June 8-12, will feature a diverse program of activities, the event organizers announced at a news briefing in Beijing on June 5.
The expo is an important platform for promoting investment and trade between China and the bloc of 16 Central and Eastern European countries, and many influential organs of the Chinese government will play an active role in this year's event.
In addition to the Ministry of Commerce, national bureaus such as the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the General Administration of Customs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council will also take part in the expo, a sign of the importance China ascribes to the event.
More than 240 companies from the 16 CEE countries have also confirmed that they will attend the expo, according to the briefing.
The attendees will have the opportunity to take part in 15 separate events designed to promote investment and trade between China and Central and Eastern Europe, including conferences, forums, exhibitions and cultural exchanges.
Five conferences will be held during the five-day expo, including the China-CEEC Cooperation & Development Forum, China (Ningbo)-CEEC Governors and Mayors Summit, China-CEEC Customs Development Forum and China-CEEC Overseas Chinese Businessman Ningbo Summit.
There will also be an economic and trade seminar for representatives of the countries' chambers of commerce, as well as an investment and cooperation symposium designed to stimulate further and closer communication between guests from China and the CEE countries.
Other activities will include a four-day fair displaying special products from Central and Eastern Europe such as wine, food and health care products, a business matchmaking meeting and a Chinese cocoon silk exhibition.
A special activity to honor this year's guest country the Czech Republic, along with education and tourism exchange events, will add extra color to the expo.
