Liaoning eases marriage rules for foreigners

Foreigners in Shenyang who want to register marriages are now able to do so at the local civil affairs bureau without having to go to Liaoning’s provincial-level department, Shenyang Daily reported.

According to the notice issued by Liaoning Provincial People’s Government on devolving foreign-related marriage registration rights to city-level civil affairs bureaus, from June 1, Shenyang civil affairs bureau will replace Liaoning provincial department in handling marriage registrations.

The policy is targeted at foreigners, overseas Chinese, and Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao residents who want to register their marriages in Shenyang.

The Shenyang civil affairs bureau is located at No 5 Heilongjiang Road, Huanggu District, Shenyang.
