The third “Summer of Hunhe River” Culture Festival was unveiled at Yunyang Pavilionin Shenyang on May 31. The festival is expected to be an important event in boosting the local tourism industry.
The event, sponsored by Heping district’s government, will last for a three-month period until the end of October.
Tourists and local residents will have the opportunity to take part in over 300 activities during the event, including enjoying free performances, outdoor films, sampling local customs, and joining in sports competitions such as canoeing, roller-skating and walking.
The majority of the indoor activities will be held in Yunyang Pavilion –– a replica pavilion built in the traditional style of the Liao Dynasty (916-1125) which serves as a professional performance venue.
At the opening ceremony of the third “Summer of Hunhe River” Culture Festival held on May 31, performancesinvolving classic dances, Latin dances and brass band music were staged by teachers and students from Shenyang Conservatory of Music.
