Baotou links with e-commerce operator on innovation park

Qingshan district in Baotou signed a cooperation agreement on May 22 with Chinese e-commerce platform zbj.com on an innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration park to be established in the city, reports Baotou Daily.

Du Xuejun, mayor of Baotou, welcomed a delegation led by Wang Nan, a senior official at zbj.com. Du explained the achievements Baotou has made over the past few years and underlined the importance of scientific and technological innovation to boost urban development.

Baotou, the largest city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is one of the largest industrial bases in China and boasts rich resources. This year the city was selected as one of the first demonstration areas of industrial transformation and upgrading in China.

Based in Chongqing in southwest China, zbj.com is one of the largest innovation and entrepreneurship platforms in China. Under the agreement, the e-commerce operator will help with the technological innovation and transformation of small and medium-sized companies based in Baotou.

The park will cover more than 20,000 square meters and feature the application of Internet + in areas such as advertising, finance and education. The park is aimed at boosting innovation and entrepreneurship and contributing to regional economic development with assistance and ideas from 13,000,000 creative workers from around the world. It will be the second park of its kind in Inner Mongolia to use investments from zbj.com.

Besides, a trade fair highlighting the application of the latest information technologies will be held in Baotou on June 10. It will be co-organized by the people’s government of Baotou and zbj.com.
