The news came only five days after delivery of the first metro train for Line 13 on May 18.
Manufactured by CRRC Dalian Co Ltd, the train is Guangzhou's first metro line of eight carriages, and will have the largest carrying capacity to date of 3,456 passengers, 33 percent more than that of the regular model.
"The train has several new technologies and materials, affording passengers a comfortable commuting experience," claimed He Ye, an official at Guangzhou Metro Co.
