Baotou, the largest city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is to enhance its parking facilities to a new level by adding 24 more multistory car parks to the city, according to Baotou Daily.
The city’s first multistory car park was opened to the public on April 24 and has been well received.
Equipped with separate parking facilities on its first story, the car park employed an automated parking system (APS) with an interior elevator to transport vehicles to the upper levels once the drivers have parked them in designated spots.
The car park is divided into two sections, a four-story and a five-story section, offering a total of 260 parking spots, making it capable of holding four times the number of cars as a normal car park.
Larger vehicles like SUVs can also be parked as each unit of the car park has a weight capacity of 2.5 tons.
