Metro Line 1 in Changchun, Jilin province, was opened to the media on May 23 and will conduct test operations on June 30.
The total distance for this line is 18.14 kilometers underground with 15 stations, starting at Beihuan Station and going to Hongzuizi Station.

The train can finish the entire distance in 32 minutes with the highest speed of 80 kilometers per hour. It only takes 14 minutes to go from the local government building to Shengli Park -- the first and one of the most popular parks in Changchun -- via Line 1.
According to a staff member, the speed of the trains will increase after the pilot run.

To date, 1,118 staff members have been arranged to manage the operation of the train, among whom 140 are drivers, 102 are vehicle maintenance staff, and 24 are security guards.
The stations along Line 1 are equipped with modern intelligent devices and accessibility facilities, such as 160 escalators and 28 lifts for people in need.

Additionally, the seats on the train have heating functionality and will start heating automatically during the winter.
Lights in the cars are also well-designed for passengers to read comfortably, helping facilitate reading books during a commute.
