The day got underway at Nianhuawan, a landmark Buddhist tourism town in Lingshan Mountain, where Li Xiaomin, Wuxi's most senior official, delivered a welcome speech to all the guests.
Li thanked his fellow Wuxi citizens for their contributions to their hometown's development and invited the group to have a look around the city, which for many of the guests looked completely different to when they last visited.
After the welcome ceremony, all the guests followed one of four designated routes designed to show them the great changes that had taken place in Wuxi.
