Jinwan District has established an office especially meant to prepare for construction of the National New-Energy Vehicle Power Battery & Electric Driving System Quality Supervision & Inspection Center.
This will be South China's first-ever public detection technology service center with inspection and detection functions for new-energy vehicle batteries and electric drive systems. It is to be a comprehensive high-level technical service organization focusing on new-energy vehicles and kernel components and integrating functions of R&D, pilot plant tests, standard system revisions, quality inspections, staff training, technical exchanges, and international cooperation.

The Zhuhai Quality & Technology Supervision Bureau took the lead in constructing the national inspection center last year. The total investment is estimated at 290 million yuan ($42 million), with 10 million yuan ($1.5 million) funded by provincial and 60 million yuan ($8.7 million) in special financing granted by municipal financial departments. Jinwan District will freely allocate 3.33 hectares of land for construction and offer 220 million yuan ($31.9 million) in financial support.
The first-class third-party inspection center can provide the "go ahead" for products to enter the market. It also can offer technical support and realize the opening and sharing of product R&D and quality improvements by providing professional standards settings and revisions, enterprise R&D pilot tests, and comprehensive wide-ranging technical exchanges and cooperation.
