Shanghai Yuz Museum will open three ongoing exhibitions to the public for free, marking this year's International Museum Day on Thursday.

Los Angeles-based artist Jennifer West's debut exhibition in China, Is Film Over?, shows five films she produced from 2009 to 2016. In her films, West takes a multidisciplinary approach to examining how moving images influence people's thoughts and aesthetics. The exhibition runs through May 28.

Chinese artist Zhou Li's solo exhibition, Shadow of the Wind, shows dozens of abstract paintings, with curved lines on a pale backdrop reflecting the wisdom of ancient Chinese philosophy. Her works are on view through June 4.

Brooklyn-based artist and designer KAWS is known for his iconic sculpture remakes of animation characters. His first retrospective show in Asia, through Aug 13, reviews his sculptures, paintings, sketches and toys. While his pop-art style has won him many fans worldwide, some critics have called his work "too commercial".

The museum also celebrated its third anniversary on Wednesday.
