The country of tulips is inviting people to play in Wuxi's Plum Garden. A Dutch theme will be front and center throughout the garden's first Dutch Queen's Day, running from April 15 to May 15.

The Koninginnedag, or Queen's Day, has been celebrated on April 30 every year since 1949 in the Netherlands. The Dutch sell their used items in flea markets and hold a lot of festivities.

In a bid to add a new and refreshing experience for visitors to the annual Tulip Festival which has been held for 17 consecutive years, the garden has pulled out all the stops this year in creating a European style gala with a range of new tourist attractions and garden landscapes.

Picture a vast windmill sea consisting of five huge windmills and 200,000 smaller ones, a 30-meter-long and 7-meter-tall Barbie doll that has kids' rides inside, and a magic mirror enabling visitors to see themselves as movie super heroes; that will give you a feeling for the garden gala.

You might wish to note as well that on the weekends of the month-long extravaganza, and on the May Day holiday, the first 500 visitors wearing clothes or ornaments in orange will receive a gift.
