Get close to airline staff members

More than 70 Changchun people experienced a typical working day of a staff member of China Southern Airlines on May 10.

Civil air transportation requires high standards and airports are always located far away from downtown, which makes understanding the work of airline employees do difficult to be understood by most people.

China Southern Airlines held an Open Day activity to welcome people to visit the airport and learn about airline staff members’ working environment, during which ground service staff members introduced the functions of different sections of an airport and explained the regulations on board.

Staff members also showed the various luggage signboards hanging on different kinds of baggage.

"I had never carefully read the information on the signboard of my luggage," an open day visitor said. "It contains a lot of notices and information on how to better protect our luggage."

Participants of the activity also followed the airline staff members to go on board and were shown the layout of the airplane -- economy class, business class, corridors, and emergency exits.

The activity helped people understand the work done at the airport and they learned safety knowledge for while on board, but at the same time developed close relationships between airline staff members and guests.
