Provincial inspection delegation visits Pingtan

The Cross-Straits Express Distribution Center, with an investment of 600 million yuan, is one of the key marine logistic programs the city is working on. So far, a total of 140 companies have settled in the center with a daily handling volume of about 12,000 packages.

During a conference held later in the day, local government officials also briefly reported the city's economic performance in the first quarter of 2017 to the visiting inspection team.

The GDP of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone amounted to 4.9 billion yuan ($ 710 million) in Q1, an increase of 9.2 percent over the same period last year, and the public financial revenue reached 1.08 billion, up 48.4 percent.
