Snow covered the Darbin Lake National Woodland Park in the Oroqen Autonomous Banner on May 6, the day after the beginning of the 7th solar term of the Chinese calendar, colloquially referred to as the “Start of Summer” (Chinese: 立夏).
The park spans over a 22,000 hectare area, of which forests account for 75.3 percent. As a primeval forest, Darbin Lake National Woodland Park features assorted natural landforms and scenery, including crater lakes, stone waterfalls, volcanic valleys, rhododendrons and a wide variety of wild birds.
