Wuxi to add eight new hospitals

Xinrui Hospital, a flagship medical project featuring Internet of Things (IoT) technology will be put into trial operation at Wuxi's Hongshan Town by the end of June 2017.

Shanghai Ruijin Hospital, an investor in the project, will transfer high-quality medical resources and cutting-edge IoT technology such as wearable equipment and family security packages to the town. The first phase of this tertiary general hospital will cover about 6.67 hectares with 600 approved beds.

In addition, construction of seven other hospitals has also been approved and is scheduled to be completed during the following two years. These include New Fifth Hospital in Liangxi district, Affiliated Hospital, Jiangnan University (New Fourth Hospital), International Medical Institution and Wuxi Taihu New City Maternity Hospital in Binhu district, New Xishan People's Hospital in Xishan district, Columbia Wuxi Hospital in Wuxi Xinwu district and Huishan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Huishan district.

These new hospitals will be of high quality and large scale, with advanced equipment and technology as well as quality human resources. Five of them will exceed 6.67 hectares in size.

The biggest, the International Medical Institution, will cover an area of 200,000 square meters. With an investment of $550 million, its projects will range from medical research to medical-related product sales promotion, covering the entire medical industry chain.

Located in Xinwu district, Columbia Wuxi Hospital will be the first general hospital of the Colombian Pacific Management Group in China and the first foreign general hospital in Wuxi.

These new hospitals are expected to bring much more convenience to local residents and to provide access to high level medical services.
