Baotou opens first multi-story car park

A man parks his car in a multi-story car park in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, April 24. The car park opened to the public on April 24. It is the first parking lot of its kind in the city. The car park can host four times the number of cars as a normal car park can host. Each unit has a weight capacity of 2.5 tons which means larger vehicles like SUVs can also be parked. The parking lot is equipped with normal parking facilities on its first story. An automated parking system (APS) with an interior elevator will then help to transport vehicles to the upper levels once the drivers have parked them into designated spots. [Photo/Baotou Daily]
