The day marked the second China Space Day, a day designated in 2016 to mark the launch of China's first satellite on April 24, 1970. Baotou launched a series of activities to promote children’s interest in space science, including watching videos of Tianzhou-1, China's first cargo spacecraft which was docked with the orbiting Tiangong-2 space laboratory and successfully launched into space on April 20. The highlights also included children making models of rockets with teachers. [Photo/Baotou Daily] |
