Food festival highlights Mongolian cuisine

A food festival was recently held in Hohhot to exhibit around 600 Mongolian dishes and snacks cooked by over 100 chefs from the region’s 12 leagues and cities, with the purpose of highlighting Mongolian-style cuisine and local dining customs.

During the event, a 130,000-word book containing the recipes for 163 Mongolian dishes and specialties was released by the Quality and Technology Supervision Administration of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Inner Mongolia Standardization Institute, and the region’s catering and restaurants trade associations.

The book includes nearly 200 pictures of traditional, classical and creative local Mongolian dishes, made with unique ingredients and cooking methods.
