Baotou Airport is to partner with Hunnu Air, one of the two big airlines of Mongolia, with an agreement signed to further cooperation between the two parties, according to local media.
The agreement was reached at a project promotion conference which kicked off on April 20, ahead of a commodities exposition, which is aimed at boosting China-Mongolia ties.
The conference, as part of incentives to boost cooperation and trade exchanges between China and Mongolia, witnessed agreements on 14 projects worth 2.66 billion yuan ($386 million), covering a wide range of areas including e-commerce, tourism and the purchase of coal.

Baotou has formed partnerships with Mongolia in various areas over the past few years as part of the implementation of national strategies for China’s Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Russia-Mongolia Economic Corridor.
The city launched a direct flight to Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia, on Aug 3, 2016 –– the first international flight out of Baotou city. The flight, operated by Hunnu Air using a Fokker-F-50, is scheduled to fly twice a week on Thursday and Sunday.
