Baotou is to host a teaching base for the National Defence University of the People’s Liberation Army (NDU PLA), with an unveiling ceremony taking place on April 10, reports Baotou Daily.
Wu Jieming, a senior official at NDU PLA, said at the ceremony that the teaching base will be backed by the university and is expected to help with the development of Baotou’s national defence and military industry.
Known as the top university for military education in China, NDU PLA is a Beijing-based university under the leadership of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC). It is often cited as China's equivalent to West Point, and mainly offers courses on research into strategic and national defence issues.
