Inner Mongolia received over 3.6 million tourists from April 2 to 4, earning revenues of around 2.1 billion yuan ($304.6 million), according to the region’s tourism department.
Statistics indicated that tourism revenues reached 69 million yuan at 40 different scenic spots and historical sites in the autonomous region.
Thanks to the warm temperatures, the tourism market flourished during the three-day holiday, and people chose an assortment of travel options including self-driving tours, hiking in grasslands or desert, and package tours.
